Triathlon programs

Bytown Storm Development Program

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM -  The Development program is our full time triathlon training program for athletes aged 15 to 24+.  

This program is focused on developing the draft legal pathway, draft legal racing in triathlon is largely referred to as the Podium pathway and includes Provincial, National and International competition.  The Bytown Storm program is one of the oldest and most successful development program is Canada, with a number of athletes achieving podium performances in Provincial, National and International Championships.  Our program is led by one of Canada's most successful coaches who has worked with Triathlon Canada's National Team program in various coaching capacities including at training camps in Australia, Spain and Europe, PATCO Championships in Brazil, Mexico and Netherlands and World Championships in China. 


All athletes who register in the program are provided with a TRAINING PEAKS account (trainingpeaks.com) that will help coaches communicate group workout sessions and specific as well as some training athletes can do on their own.  This is a full service program and includes all coaching fees and facility access fees.  Athletes can create their own schedule based on the weekly group training sessions listed below.  Development program athletes can attend as many sessions as they want each week.  

This program includes a MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP at PEAK CENTRE for Human Performance, where we will be our Fall Winter training centre for strength and cycling portions of the program.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FEE - $229.00 + hst per month (program is billed monthly)


Please Note:  You can withdraw from programs at anytime with 30 days notice.  The advance notice allows us to adjust any facility commitments we may have contracted if necessary.

This program also includes On Your Own (OYO) workouts delivered through training peaks.



youth triathlon Program 11+ year olds

Youth Triathlon Program

This program is a great introduction to triathlon and includes technical, physical and strength training for each discipline.  Participants will train with certified experience coaches in a program that focuses on developing the swim, bike and run skills that will help improve athleticism, strength and fitness.  The Bytown Storm program has introduced more than 400 young athletes to the sport of triathlon through a fun and inclusive program that helps instill a passion for an active lifestyle.  

Swim, bike, run

SWIMMING

We teach proper freestyle swim mechanics first to ensure efficiency.  Good swim technique ensures the athletes get more enjoyment out of the activity.  Athletes will learn swim specific skills related triathlon swimming.  

 

BIKING 

Our winter biking program focuses on developing a proper pedal stroke allowing the athlete to produce power throughout the pedal stroke and keep even pressure on the pedal.  Winter is also a great time to develop the ability to pedal at different cadences and different gears.


OUR RUN program is centred around injury prevention through developing proper run mechanics and run specific strength training.  We combine track, trial and road running our coaching staff is lead by one of the most experienced and successful running coaches in the Province. Athletes will learn proper run mechanics and movement patterns.  We begin the process by teaching proper posture, positioning, placement and developing co-ordination and rhythm. Run volume is built in co-ordination with our run specific strength.

PRICING -  $359.00 + HST 

this program will be charged in 2 equal payments of $202.83

Part Time Triathlon Training Program

WE think experiencing lots of sports is a great idea, we recognize that young athletes should try many different things.  If you are involved in other sports or just want to try out the sport of triathlon we offer a part time program. 


Choose any (2) sessions per week from the schedules above and join us.

The part time program is billed monthly and you can stop anytime with 30 days notice.


Please be advised that our program does have capacity limits and spots for each session will be prioritized for athletes in full programs.
